11/26 Digital zine released*Why "(wave 1)", "(wave 2), and "(wave 3)?"
We communicate with such a large number of people that we are exceeding Gmail's allowed limits of 500 emails/recipients per day. We are therefore sending out one wave of emails per day so we can stay in contact with you.*A note about our process at Blood and Water Zine
When ordering traditionally, the seller has already created the stock and simply has to mail it out (sometimes with a few customizations, but most often not). In the case of a business like Amazon, your item is already sitting in their warehouse ready to be loaded into a truck and sent to you, whereas a small business usually takes a very limited number of orders to accommodate for the fact that they can only hold so much stock at once. This is because their primary goal is delivering products to customers.
Our primary goal at Blood and Water Zine is a little different; we wanted to give the CaitVi fandom an opportunity to raise as much money as we physically can for our causes. Because shipping is still ongoing (and it costs money to buy labels and mail packages), we can't yet calculate how much money has been raised. Let's just say for now that we are thrilled by our community's enormous spirit of giving -- thrilled, and a little overwhelmed.
Hand-organizing, packing, and shipping orders on this scale is a huge task for anyone. That being said, we are up for the job! Rest assured that your order will receive a ton of love as Luna packs it and sends it on its journey home.Update March 30th 2026
We would like to address the recent unrest in the fandom involving a fanfiction depicting CSA and one of our contributors and recipient of 25% of funds raised by the zine, Nilo (@viollyntt). We would like you all to know that we do not condone the actions of the fanfiction writer nor do we condone Nilo’s actions. We appreciate Nilo’s apology, but we believe accountability requires time and action, especially when hurt has been done to the victims who expressed discomfort. The Blood and Water mods and staff will no longer be associating with them.We would also like to clarify our stance on the donation that Nilo was promised. We will not be rescinding our donation. Nilo became the recipient of this fundraiser in September of 2024, as a result of being a refugee of war living in a dangerous environment. As we have stated, this has been independently and thoroughly verified as true. We wanted to offer support to a member of our community facing dire circumstances. Those circumstances have not changed for Nilo.We agreed to allocate a portion of the funds to their refugee GoFundMe well before this current situation. As grave as their actions were, Nilo is still a human being and we don’t believe he nor anyone is not worthy of safety. So we’re still going to honor the promise we made over a year ago. We understand that this decision will upset some of you and for that we can only apologize. To account for the hurt this decision may cause, we will be running a leftover sale and donating half of the proceeds to a CSA survivors organization. We have some research to do for which one would be the best, but we’re open to suggestions, ideally international ones. The other half of the proceeds will go to the Trevor Project, who are actively fighting back against the global trans genocide. With that being said, there’s still inventory to do, and our stock and shipping mod Luna, currently has her hands full caring for her mother, who’s suffering from ALS. But we’re looking forward to sharing dates later this year. When we open the leftover sales, we’ll also re-open sales of the digital version, for those of you who missed the first batch. We appreciate your support and dedication to maintaining a safe and fun fandom environment. Our spaces are a better place when we hold each other accountable with dignity and respect.

What is a zine?
A zine is a self-published magazine; an anthology or collection of art and writing in a booklet/ digital format
_Will the zine have physical copies or digital copies?
This zine was made available in both print and digital formats.
_Where will profits for the zine go?
All profits have been donated to Care for Gaza and a refugee GoFundMe for a member of the Arcane community.See our Final Donations page for more information
_How can I order?
Pre-orders closed on April 15th, 2025. All shipments are now complete and associated funds have been donated to our causes. We will have a second run of regular sales pending inventory of our backstock and execution of internal logistics. There is no waitlist or mailing list to be notified of this sale, so keep an eye on our website and socials for the latest information.
_What is a pre-order?
Pre-order means you are purchasing a good before its manufacture has been ordered by the seller you are purchasing from. The seller (in this case, Blood and Water Fanzine), uses the number of people who pre-ordered to figure out how many copies to purchase from our third-party manufacturer (ie the external company who prints the fanzine based on the digital manuscript our hardworking contributors created). This means a lead time of several months, particularly in the case of a charity fanzine, can often be expected.
_Where is my digital order?
Digital zines were released on November 26th, 2025. If you didn't receive the information to access your digital content, please send us an email including your order number and we will happily investigate this for you.See our Shipping Updates page for more information
_Where is my physical order?
At this time, all orders have shipped. You should have received tracking updates to your email on file. If you are having a problem with your order, please reach out to us quickly with your order details so we can get to the bottom of it together.See our Shipping Updates page for more information
_I want a refund.
All funds have now been donated to our causes. Refunds are no longer available at this time. If you have a problem with your order, please contact us quickly as this phase of the fundraiser is coming to an end. We thank you kindly for your charitable donation toward a refugee gofundme and Gaza victims.
_My address has changed!
As all orders have shipped, the fastest and only way to update your address is to contact the carrier who is shipping your package.
_Where are the shipping updates?
The most up-to-date information is available on our Shipping Updates page. You should have received multiple shipping updates to your email inbox during this time, but it is possible the email address you provided in your order details bounced back. Please check your spam/junk folder to be sure.
_How do I apply?
Applications are closed since the fanzine is now complete! We will be announcing our leftover sale shortly.
_How will artists and writers be incorporated?
After our contributors are selected, a writer will be paired with an artist after submitting individual questionnaires so we can pair creators who are compatible with one another. After being paired, the author and artists will work together to come up with a prompt that they will work on together as a team after approval from editorial staff.
_Will this include NSFW content?
No, this zine is a SFW project but contributors are required to be 16+

Luna (she/her)
While I just graduated from law school in the US, I've managed magazines since I was in college and I'm so excited to be running a CaitVi zine! I have a BA in Writing & Rhetoric where I got my feet wet in a myriad of writing styles. And while I've loved creative writing my entire life, I didn't feel brave enough to embrace that until this fandom. If you want to read my work or hear me yap, just click one of these: AO3, Twitter, and Tumblr.
Managing Editor
Grace (she/her)
Hey everyone, I'm Grace! This is my first time co-running and being in a zine, so this is a really exciting project for me and I hope we can make a change! I love writing and editing, and I'm a published poet. You can find my work on both AO3 and Tumblr.
Artists Manager
Peach (she/they)
I'm a Spanish artist living in the US. I stopped drawing for almost a decade and picked it back up in 2020. I studied art in my last two years of high school (Bachillerato in Spain), but I'm mostly self taught. You can find me on Twitter, Tumblr and IG.
Fundraising Coordinator
Kestra (she/her)
I'm a lot of things, I work in forestry as a blue collar unicorn during the day using my Chemical Laboratory Technologist diploma, I spend the rest of my time being a mom to two kids and in between all that I write and try to help out where I can in my communities and with my friends. I'm just one person out here trying to make the world a better place in anyway I can, and being asked to help out on the zine was an honor to try and make a difference. I've been writing since I was a little kid but never published anything until I joined the fandom in 2022, feel free to check out my writing or interact with me on Twitter or Bluesky.

Star (she/they)
I'm a design student in Singapore and I've started formatting fanzines since 2022! I love fan events, especially when they're for a good cause, and I'm so excited to be a part of this one. You can find me on Twitter, Tumblr and AO3.
Content Editor & Community Moderator
Kita (she/her)
Hi, I’m Kita! I’m a published writer and certified multi-fandom nerd. Although I have a history in writing, editing, and publication, I consider this year my hard launch into active fandom. I’m very excited to be part of this awesome event! You can find me on Tumblr and AO3.
We’re thrilled to announce that the Blood & Water CaitVi fanzine has raised a total of $16,739, of which $12,554 were donated to Care for Gaza, a non-profit organization that has been distributing food, medicine, and cash aid to the displaced families in Gaza since 2018.The other $4185 ($5739 CAD) have been donated to Nilo, a queer Afghan refugee from the Arcane community who’s trying to flee their abusive household and dangerous gendered political government-sanctioned violence to start a new life in Canada. We'd like to thank everyone who purchased a copy; each contribution to this fundraiser was meaningful, and your dedication to this fandom and cause will be helping real people live better lives. When fundraising at this scale, there are a lot of costs to account for even in a normal year. Unfortunately, our November preliminary fundraising estimates were severely impacted by the Trump Administration’s policies. Toward the end of 2025, both domestic and international shipping costs skyrocketed. We did our absolute best to offset those costs so that we could maximize the amount donated in the end, and we are very proud to conclude this project having contributed so much to our causes.Throughout this project, a lot of logistical and personal challenges arose that we weren’t prepared for. Regardless, we’re still really proud of what we’ve achieved, and we want to thank those of you who were patient, kind, and gracious with us. It’s people like you that we made the zine for and that make this community worth participating in.We are immensely grateful for the 34 artists and writers who selflessly donated their time and skills to make this fanzine possible, working incredibly hard for months to bring their stories and art into shape, and the Arcane community that came together to bring a little bit of good to the world.Thank you, from the bottom of our heart,The Blood & Water Team.
